Reporting content or behaviour

If someone uses a shared wishlist, a comment or a circle name to post something abusive, unlawful or otherwise objectionable, email contact@giftyr.app with a description and a link or screenshot. We investigate reports promptly, and we remove content and suspend accounts that breach our terms of service.

Common questions

Can the person the gifts are for see who reserved one?

No — and not by accident, either. Reservations are stored so that the person an occasion is for cannot see who reserved what, however they look. Other gift-givers see that an item is taken so nobody buys it twice; the recipient only ever sees their own wishes.

What about an occasion I'm organising for someone else?

Then everyone taking part sees who is giving what, including you — that's deliberate. The person being surprised isn't in the occasion, so there is nobody among you to hide from, and seeing each other's names is what makes coordinating possible. Note that anyone you send the link to sees the same thing, so share it with the people you actually mean to.

Do the people I share with need the app?

No. A share link opens in any browser, and anyone can browse the wishes and reserve one without an account. The app gives you reminders and lets you keep your own lists.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Privacy → Delete account. That removes your account and its content — the privacy policy explains exactly what is deleted and when, and Deleting your data covers every other route, including if you can't reach the app.

How do I get my data?

Email contact@giftyr.app and we'll send you a copy of your data. Under GDPR we respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Can I stop the emails and notifications?

Notification preferences live in the app under Profile → Notifications. For anything else, tell us and we'll take you off it.
